A-Level
A Level maths is an important qualification for so many students. Most universities consider maths a science subject which means that A Level maths will appear in the entry requirements of many science based courses at university. A good grade in A Level maths will enable students to go to their preferred university and study their subject of choice. Even if they do not go on to pursue maths at degree level, studying maths at A Level will keep the doors open for a range of future careers. A student studying maths at A Level will develop a vast range of transferrable skills, including problem-solving skills, analytical skills and logic, which can then all be applied to many different areas of their life.
When a student is studying maths at A Level, there will be so many exciting new things to learn, such as differentiation, integration and more advanced algebra. Students will also explore applications of pure mathematics to mechanics, statistics and decision mathematics. The study of maths at A Level will very
often reinforce the knowledge gained during GCSE maths and expand upon this. They will see new methods of answering questions and will learn how to prove mathematical statements. This will deepen a student’s understanding of mathematical concepts and arguments.
